Unfortunately, we ended up waiting nearly two hours for our food. Our friend, who was leaving for college, ended up having to leave without even receiving her meal or a water refill. It took our server an hour and a half of our wait to finally apologize for the miscommunication, and when our food did arrive, it was undercooked and cold. To make matters worse, we didn’t receive any discount or compensation, even as we watched other tables, who had been seated after us, get their meals and leave. We won’t be coming back to this restaurant.
Not a good choice on Sundays! It was extremely crowded, and there was a long line of people waiting to get in. I ordered online through the restaurant, and they promised the food would be ready in 15 minutes. I ended up waiting nearly an hour, only to find out that they had messed up our order. There were missing ingredients, and the food wasn't made to our specifications. For $35, I expect them to get two people's orders right. BYC, please consider hiring more staff!
Service was the perfect amount of attentiveness. They didn't have what I wanted (supply issues), so I tried the standard eggs Benedict. Was ok. Potato side pretty bland, boring. Not worth making a trip for, but ok if it is nearby.
Service was friendly and food was made in a timely manner. Food was good. Definitely would recommend trying this place out, especially if you are a lover of breakfast.
I ordered the California Benedict, which was excellent—perfectly poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce that was just right. I also appreciated their new thinly sliced home-style potatoes; while they were a bit bland, they would have been perfect with sautéed onions and a bit more seasoning. My wife's hash browns were cooked perfectly, offering a nice balance of crispy and soft, and her over-easy eggs were good as well. Overall, our experience was much improved compared to our last two visits. I've deleted my previous photos and included a new one to showcase the perfectly cooked poached eggs. Keep up the great work! **My previous review:** Unfortunately, I need to revise my review from two years ago. This past year, my wife and I have noticed a steady decline in both service and food preparation. Our last three visits, including this morning, were marked by long service delays and an entreé delivery time exceeding 30 minutes, even when the restaurant was only about 60% full. Our recent visits have featured improperly cooked eggs, missing ingredients, and requests that weren't met. This morning was especially frustrating. My wife ordered her eggs over easy, but they were cooked hard instead. It’s perplexing that they would serve them this way without checking. Anyone could have noticed from a distance that they were overcooked. My Golden State Benedict was missing avocado, and the poached eggs were just as hard as my wife's. The hollandaise sauce was broken and lumpy, and my toast was burnt to a crisp. There were so many issues with our order that we decided to let a server know we wouldn’t wait for everything to be remade and that we were leaving. We've always enjoyed dining at Broken Yolk, but at this point, I can’t see us returning.
