Dons Bakery - Bala

I have been waiting from last three years to get my hands on cranberry lemon cake but had no luck as they sold out so quickly Finally had a chance to eat cranberry lemon cake last week. It is an amazing explosion of taste. The sourness of cranberry and lemon makes a perfect combination and it’s not too sweet as well MUST TRY BEFORE YOU DIE

Visit June 4, 2022. Excellent quality of baked goods, solid variety of other pre-prepared and frozen foods. Suggest to arrive early to ensure they may not be short of popular items. Reasonably priced considering the quality. Some challenges may be experienced with those individuals who may be mobility impaired.

I bought a package of Don's white scone buns this afternoon at our local Food Basics in Kemptville. I had never seen them before and was unfamiliar with the brand. My wife and I decided to try them for dinner as a sandwich. To make a long story short, they were incredibly delicious and we ended up finishing the entire dozen. I hope that Food Basics continues to carry them in their store because we absolutely loved them. They are fantastic on their own with butter.

I am extremely disappointed. I used to spend every summer here as a child, and the bakery was always open by this time. We specifically drove off the highway just to visit Don's. Unfortunately, it was not open. I called and they answered, but they wouldn't give me my scones, even though I know they have them frozen. I am so disappointed. I would give them 10 stars if the bakery was open - it's amazing. Now they are inside baking, but they still won't give me any. Come on, I drove all the way from Prince Edward Island for your scones, and also your sticky buns. Ugh, okay fine, I will change my rating, but you really could have just given me some scones.

Go FOR THE SCONES !!! But save some for me!!! Honestly I do love this bakery rating four stars because they are fantastic summers at the cottage wouldn’t be the same without dons lost a star though because for a few years now the Chelsea has been… different they are smaller and not as fluffy as the Chelsea of my childhood … still buy one every week in the summer though I just miss that fluffy buttery taste it used to have
