New owners, but the same amazing food and atmosphere! The new management took over on July 1, 2014, and they’ve maintained that wonderful small-town vibe with delicious cuisine and friendly new staff members!

A Hidden Gem in the Rustic Scene!!! The best pancakes I’ve ever had! And I’ve had quite a few: Tilia (Minneapolis), Good Day Cafe (St. Louis Park), Zumbro Cafe (Linden Hills), Sara's Table (Duluth), and the list goes on... Living in the Twin Cities area gives me a huge variety, and while there are many amazing pancakes around here and beyond, I still think Lou's pancakes reign supreme! They’re a delightful combination of breakfast and dessert all in one. My advice is to heed Lou's menu suggestion and order just one—because what you’ll find in the center of a short stack is nothing short of heavenly. It’s the perfect pancake against which all others are measured! And these pancakes aren’t the only highlight; there's also Lou’s wonderfully quirky personality, Robin’s delightful apologies for Lou, and the rest of the great staff, including Amber, creating an unforgettable experience in Northern Minnesota! And if you miss out on the pancakes, don’t worry—the Speck Cheeseburger with Fritten is fantastic too! Sincerely, Matthew

Charming little café in town. The pancakes are definitely worth trying... Lou is quite a character; I can see how some might find him off-putting, but I appreciate his sense of humor. You can't beat the value of his meals.

Lou has some of the best foods and a very affordable price. Also completely rebuilt. You can't beat the staff.

Always AMAZING. No matter what time of day I go to Lou's, the food is unbelievable and the staff is first class. From breakfast to dinner, its homemade food made with love and care and served with a smile. I always feel like family at Lou's stop in and see for yourself.
