The Bekash - Basildon

Been coming here for years now and in all that time I’ve never had a bad experience. Absolutely the best Indian food in the area, top food and the service is second to none.

I phoned for a taxi. They said it would be 10 minutes. When I arrived to pick it up 5 minutes later it was ready. So clearly microwaved. It was disgusting. Easily the worst take away I have ever had.

Just used the Bekash for the first time in years, will be the last time. Tasteless watery sauces. Paratha bread stodgy dough. Other dishes just as poor. Their spices bill must be tiny. Pilau rice not any better no flavour. Very small portions. Avoid.

I was unimpressed by the restaurant. We were asked for our drink order right after we sat down, without being given a drinks menu. A small glass of red wine and a lemonade ended up costing £16.50, which felt excessive. The food was average, nothing stood out, and the service seemed rushed and unfriendly.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at this restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, as always. Despite being a large party, they managed to cater to all of us quickly and efficiently. The food was outstanding with a wide variety of options that all tasted delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the drink choices as well, especially since my husband drinks Magners, which is rarely served at other establishments. It was a memorable night spent with friends, despite living 100 miles away, we will certainly be returning on our future trips across the river.
