Solou - Baton Rouge

Went for my birthday brunch and I'm so glad I chose this place! Service was great! I don't remember our servers name but he was a handsome redhead who was so sweet and attentive! Would highly recommend to anyone !

I would first like to start off by saying the place was very nice and the service was great! I want to give a special thanks to our waiter, Cody; he was very nice and friendly. However, I wouldn't recommend the shrimp and grits. It didn't resemble grits from the way it was served—it looked more like a soup or stew. Upon tasting it, I didn't like it at all. Thankfully, I was able to change it to the chicken waffles, which turned out to be good!

This is the second time that i have made a reservation for the patio and have been seated inside. I understand that this was a busy night and a holiday, but i made my reservation weeks in advance. It's ridiculous that I was not able to be accommodated. If the option to sit outside is on the reservation, then people who select it should sit outside.

Everything from start to finish was lovely. As a restaurant manager—I don't get to “be the guest” often—especially on Valentine's Day—so celebrating not only Vday, but also my Bday, with my parents was a super special occasion. We drove in from Lafayette for a concert—so we had limited time, which I know can be difficult. Trey was super accommodating over the phone. Chaz was an amazing server. The table touch by the manager was much appreciated. I was truly impressed and very delighted to be treated so graciously.

Outstanding experience for a special valentine's day dinner. The staff went above and beyond and even provided a special Valentine's Day Dessert treat presentation. Never a disappointing meal at SoLou, but this instance was especially memorable.
