Yamatani Japanese - Bishop

The restaurant is conveniently situated on Main Street, offering plenty of parking both on the side and at the back. The host staff were welcoming, and our server was not only patient and efficient but also incredibly pleasant. We had numerous questions about the menu, and he took the time to address each one thoroughly. While the prices were on the higher end for what was offered, the food was flavorful.

We had a lovely table and ordered egg rolls, which were fantastic. I also got a crunchy roll and steamed vegetables, and the vegetables came with the most amazing dipping sauce. I highly recommend this place!

This restaurant has a lot of charm. It's run by a couple—he’s the sushi chef who works alongside their daughter, while she manages the front of the house. The waitstaff is dedicated and works hard to keep the energetic atmosphere vibrant. I really enjoyed my visit.

Wow wow wow!!! Who Would've Thought Bishop would have such an awesome Japanese restaurant! It was a pleasant surprise to come in and try their food here. The salmon bellies, $3 chicken wings, tempura, and katsu were quite delicious. More than what I would have expected in a small town like Bishop. But the place was packed! I think the locals know this is a really good place for Japanese food. There can be quite a wait, so be prepared if you're coming on the weekend or busy travel day. They have a full bar too, in case you need to warm up with some alcohol. They have a good selection of Japanese beers as well! Shaelee took great care of us!
