Feedback gevenThe food at this restaurant at the Mercure Hotel in Swansea was ok. I would describe the fries as average, the veggie burger was very dry. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20
Why is this restaurant showing a 4 star hygiene rating in its front window when it only received a 1 star from trading standards?
We came here as we were staying in the hotel and wanted something easy after a day’s travel. The staff were friendly, however, the overall experience was a disappointment. We were a table of 7 people; yet the waitress asked 2 people for drinks and walked off. When the white wine they had ordered arrived, it was room temperature. As the restaurant got busier, the atmosphere turned into that of a hospital waiting room. Many customers looking around wondering when they would be given what they came here for.Food came after an hour’s wait, with no apology or acknowledgement that we’d just waited an hour for what was basically overpriced ‘pub food’.I had ordered the falafel and halloumi burger... The burger was bland and the “lime mayo” that it came with a was actually sour cream (a rather confusing combination).I can’t recommend this place for food. It would be a lie to say had it’s value for money. The bar area, however, is a nice place to grab a drink and the bar tenders are all lovely.Come here for a drink; but maybe give the food a miss!
Came here hungry as can be and the service staff refused to sit as at the proper tables in the restaurant for ordering lunch from the a la carte menu. Their excuse was that it was reserved only for “festive carvery lunch” which looked utterly unappetizing. They directed us to low lounge tables where it’s uncomfortable to lean from the couch to eat. The place was otherwise quite empty of customers and it was past the busy lunch hour. We decided to leave and instead went down the road to The Fendrod where both service and food was great.
Restaurant inside the Mercury.Map quite wide, with typical British choices!I took a pint of cider and a generous fish and chips with cheddar on fries...For desserts there is a card and also a buffet, including trickle tart and cheese cake...Also good even if a little noisy atmosphere!
