The Peddler Steakhouse - Boone

We received fantastic service from an attentive and very friendly waitress named McKenzie. Our dining experience was excellent from start to finish. A few things have changed with the new system: French onion soup is no longer included with the salad bar, and some items have been removed (I believe caviar was one of them). Nonetheless, the steaks are fresh, cut tableside, and the staff is consistently attentive throughout the meal. We’ve loved this restaurant for decades and continue to enjoy our visits every time we’re in town. **TL;DR** **Pros:** Generous portions, wide variety of salad bar options, and high-quality steaks cooked to your preference. **Cons:** Parking can get tight, but it's usually manageable. **Bottom Line:** One of our favorite restaurants in Boone, perfect for date nights or family dinners. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Everyone in our party chose the 10oz ribeye, and it was quite a treat to have the steaks cut right at our table. I also ordered two scallops and mushrooms as my sides. The food arrived quickly—just as we finished our salads, the entrees made their appearance. The portion of mushrooms was generous and perfect for sharing. However, I was disappointed with the size of the scallops. At $3.50 each, they were the smallest scallops I have ever encountered. While they had a decent flavor, I would likely skip them on my next visit. As for the steak, it was good but not exceptional, in my opinion. It was cooked well, but there were some tough bits that were hard to chew, and it could have used a bit more flavor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and the service was outstanding. If you're looking for a nice and efficient dinner, this is definitely a great spot!

I really enjoyed my recent visit to the peddler. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and both the béarnaise sauce and the crab cake were flavorful. The asparagus had a nice crunch to add to the dish and I was very happy that I chose the 'Oscar Style '. The mashed potatoes were a good blend of soft and creamy while still having potato chunks which I like. We went early in the evening and it wasn 't very busy. Our service was extremely quick and we were in and out for a dinner for 3 within an hour. All staff were friendly and the atmosphere was less chaotic than in my last review.

The waitstaff was friendly, but they brought me the wrong cut of steak (twice) and overcooked. Just decided to let it go at that point. My boyfriend's steak was overcooked as well and had very little flavor. The mozzarella sticks were burnt. Baked potato was good.

Fantastic meal with a great ambience and very kind servers. The whole experience was great! Very fast service as well! A bit pricey when compared to other restaurants around that serve similar items.
