A change in ownership must not always result in weaker service, but the takeover by Hugust Holding ApS, definitely has done so to this, so many years appreciated place of kindness and hospitality. Unfortunately we had to notice today, that the great service, family style hospitality from Jens Ipsen and his team, and a simple and friendly, non biased welcome, how can I serve you , are not present anymore, at our former, first choice here in Svaneke. Having enjoyed a delicious Pizza at Bonalâs, we wanted to let the good old memories, of over 10 enjoyable stays (between 1990 and 2012) pass by again, while having a digestif on the still nice an welcoming terrace. Not only that it took a waiter 3 visits on the terrace to take notice of us, he than finally came to our table and told us straight, before we couldn 't express any wish: sorry we don 't have enough capacity to serve you here on the terrace . After telling him that we would only have liked to drink a digestiv, he continued: Oh I saw your Pizza (which we brought as leftover from Bonalâs, but certainly without any intention to eat the remainings at Siemsens Gaard) and thought you were hotel guests and didn 't wanted to consume anything . After we said sorry for the disturbance and that under these circumstances we certainly didn 't wanted to be any burden to him, he has complimented us away from the terrace and wished us to enjoy our pizza, obvioulsly happy that he didn 't had to serve pesky pizza eaters . If Siemsens Gaard und the new owership feels, that hospitality and friendliness can be replaced by simply offering stylish sounding food on the menue, we feel sorry for this playce, because anyone how knows how this place was rund by the Ipsens, will feel foolish if he 's intendet to return. It 's really difficult to loose often returning, loyal guests, but at Siemsens Gaard today, they manage to do this in perfection shame on you this is in no way any service level and we indeed enjoyed our Pizza (and in fact by far better hospitality at Bonalâs), as we would have loved to enjoy our digestif and potententially a full course dinner in remembrance for four, here as well.
The food was really good. A little boring thing on the menu if you need to put your finger on something, but we took the poussions and they were put delicious.
Should be delicious why we chose: bride of Danish black lobsters for starters. Not many brides, but many tomatoes. Main Court: bow tie poussin. Perfect fried, super french fries and delicious bearnaise. Could have used tomato and a little green. Colourless. Dessert: we jumped over.
Great place right on the harbour. Got fried red-cover with strapoulade and lemon on a delicious rye bread. Really good. My wife got herbs, fine but with cornonaise, which was a special variant
