We are from Colorado so while different this was very similar to lodges in places like Breckenridge.Unfortunately the guy working the front desk totally ruined the experience for us. He was short with us and came across rude. It wasn't just me either it was my 12 year old son who came back frustrated because he wasn't helpful. We asked about checkout and he said noonish. My son said so 12 pm? He then repeated yeah noonish. The next morning we definitely got a call around 11:45 am asking us why we hadn't left yet. The door in the bathroom was broken so it would slide open there was no way to shower or use the restroom alone. The beds were by far the worst beds we slept on at all of the hotels we visited and this was the only luxury hotel the rest were like Holiday Inns. We were super excited about the pool but the never turned the waterfall on and the indoor hottub was broken. Unfortunately this stay wasn't super great for us.Rooms: Rooms we very big and laid out nicely. Unfortunately for us the beds we hardly the bathroom didn't actually lock and the handles on things kept falling off when we tried to use the cabinet where the refrigerator was.Nearby activities: Beautiful trails to hike and explore nearby.Walkability: There are other hotels and a convenient store close by but other than that this resort is somewhat Isolated.
The room was comfy and in a good location. However, call when you book to see if your room is above the stairs. Each room floor has half the rooms at elevator level and the other half you go up like 6 stairs. Not ADA accessible or if you have a stroller, like we did.Aaron G was great and the only person who seemed to enjoy their job. We called the front desk as soon as we got to the room to see if we could pay to upgrade to a room with a tub and we were immediately dismissed. We were told they were at capacity for the weekend, yet I could book multiple rooms online. The pool was cute but has dead flies floating on top and a bandaid on the bottom.Great location and quiet. We like the fireplace in our room and the shower was great! We would stay again with the understanding that customer service isn't priority.Walkability: Can walk to Apple Annie convenience store. That's all. You will need a car.
This lodge is aging and needs work. It looks like it might have been deluxe in the 1990s, but every part of it needs an update. For example, we were excited about the 2nd floor patio off the restaurant, but it turned out to be just a big collection of chairs, not a cozy place to sit outside and enjoy the view. The gym is at least 20 years old. The games room is at least 30 years old. You can smell the indoor pool in the lobby, elevators, and restaurant.Rates seem to be all over the place. Somebody on Trip Advisor paid $105 for a suite last month. We paid $130 for a basic room (no fireplace, no seating area) across the hall from the hotel laundry facility. The worst part is it is wood construction, so when our upstairs neighbors arrived late at night, boy did we hear them. They walked back and forth, HARD, for an hour, drowning out the television in our room. We had to put in earplugs in so we could get to sleep. The service was great. No breakfast. No extras. Comfortable bed and lovely linens. EV charging in the back, although not enough for all the cars that needed it. It was totally okay, but definitely not worth the price we paid.Walkability: There is nothing within walking distance of the hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is empty giant second houses, many of which are still under construction. No sidewalks.
It was alright; clearly understaffed with high turnover. The front desk manager was very good at resolving reservation issues. The pool was cramped and the hot tub could have used a hood scrubbing.Rooms: 3/5
Comfortable, clean, and spacious hotel with atmospheric public areas and a good restaurant bar. The warm jacuzzi was nice to soak in after a day on the mountain. I just wish the main pool was heated too. And the motion sensor light in the bathroom kept on going off when taking a shower and there was no way to override it!
