Feedback gevenI had high hopes for this bakery, as they had many products on display. I purchased a cranberry orange scone, which was not fresh and seemed to be at least 2 days old. The peanut butter cookies were okay, but it depends on personal preference for the type of PB cookie you like. The place was tasty overall, and the whole wheat burger rolls were very good. We would rate this bakery 3 out of 5. It's possible that the holiday scone was mistakenly not removed when new products were put out, as this bakery is quite popular. We should have asked when the items were baked, as the staff would have likely been able to tell us. Taste preferences vary, so there are lovers of both crispy and chewy peanut butter cookies.
Local shops and homes along the south shore are known for their delicious cinnamon rolls, double rolls, cookies, squares, and donuts. The handmade donuts come in a variety of flavors and there are also raisin bread twists and cherry pastries available.
We were on the road near Bridgewater and had a sudden need for something sweet, so we were lucky to find Weagles' Bakery. They have cookies and breads and lemon and date bars, just to mention a few of their items. We bought a variety...of their goodies and hit the road. Everything we bought was delicious!! I especially liked the date bars!!! The chocolate chip cookies were also a hit!! You do need to have cash to buy anything in the bakery. I imagine that could be a deterrent from time to time. I agree with one of the other reviewers when they said it was a blessing they didn’t live closer by… I would certainly be a regular visitor for sure!!! If you are nearby and in need of satisfying your sweet tooth…or just needing a fresh loaf of bread…this is the place you need to visit.
A HUGE Thank You to the wonderful ladies of the bakery who gave us silly, lost Americans directions to get to Lunenburg on 6/26/18! Your directions were spot-on! We found Lunenburg and had a beautiful visit...horse and buggy ride, great seafood, breathtaking views, fun shopping!...The bakery's Peanut Butter Cookies were absolutely delicious! Spend that $5 USD in the States wisely...LOL!!!
Stopped in here for a lemon meringue pie...Left with the pie, two loaves of bread, a package of raisin rolls, and 1/2 dozen donuts. Stopped along the way home at a picnic park and tasted the donuts with a cup of tea. Truly wonderful, and...better than any coffee/donut shop I can promise you. What we appreciated was the small single loaves of bread. Sliced or not...you can get homemade white bread, or brown bread in a small loaf. Can't wait to taste the white bread..the brown bread was excellent! We will be making regular visits here...I can see that!
