I've passed by the restaurant many times walking down Franklin but this Monday night I finally got to eat there. Excellent ambience, between the room's decor and the warm greeting it felt like we were invited into someone's home. A Monday night could be sleepy, but it was quite busy we enjoyed smooth service and we did not feel rushed despite spending more time talking than eating. We ordered: a bottle of red wine (Zlatan Plavac Mali 2015 from Croatia , radicchio salad, sausage and potato special appetizer, paccheri vaccinara with oxtail (wow and for only $20?! , and bucatini all'amatriciana. No dessert, but I will be sure to have it next time! It seems as though the restaurant is under new management, and they're in great shape. I would recommend this for date night, family dinners, or bringing out of towners to see the unpretentious side of New York dining. A note of the wine list: small but curated, natural wine focus, most bottles around $50 60, Italian leaning but includes other regions that pair well with the menu.
Amazing service, tasty drinks and the Branzino is to die for!!! Definitely going back!
Perfect Italian spot, quaint, cozy, feels like you’re in an Italian village in the middle of crown heights. Food was not only gorgeous but absolutely delicious. Got the bucatini and the chicken, will indeed go back and try the rest of the menu. Digestive and sorbet after the meal.
Food at Trattoria is amazing. We had pappardelle ai funghi (incredible!!! and spaghetti alle vongole: both recipes are following the Italian cousine style. To start we had Radicchio salad and the special Endive salad with fennel, orange and olive: delicious. Neither to say we ended up with the tiramisu. The ambiance is lovely, cozy and welcoming as well as the service. Strictly suggested, we will be back! Grazie!
