After we traveled for our jubilee from louisiana to new york, we discovered that the French epi is no longer open. that should be our anniversary remembering so that I can not put into words, how disappointed we were after we were to foot on the website to find it closed. we will no longer use open table.
The website menu does not even come near the restaurant menu. everything we had about that was on the menu was not available or was different as: ordered garnelen tagliatelle and we were told there are no garnel, ordered clothes hangers steak and we were told that there are no clothes hangers steak it is a rib eye. the service was bad.
I don't understand why this restaurant is always empty. the food is delicious and the service is welcoming. they could decorate something and the credit card fee on the bill is a bit perplexing. we were back three times because the food and the service are so good. when we asked them to turn off the music, they immediately met.
Small menu but everything on it was done perfect!! Samantha was very attentive We will go back
The duck was incredibly over cooked to the point where I couldn’t eat it and the seasoning on the fatty yet crispy skin was off putting. Seemed like they cooked the duck on top hot of a pan. the octopus came with mushed avocado.... which I have never had before but it was strange. Overall the octopus was cooked well but was a small portion. The pull apart bread was completely saturated with oil and butter to the point that it leaked oil and was spongy. Lastly the creme brûlée had a weird taste and the sugar on top was not torched enough. The ambience was loud pop music and the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty at 7pm on a Thursday. it seemed like a fake fancy restaurant. The wine was very expensive yet very gross. Would not recommend.
