Great food and service. Staff was super nice and attentive. The place is very quaint and they offer a great happy hour. I will definitely go back.
Food was delicious and the place is very cute. It's VERY loud though a lot of background noise. Fish and chips, striped bass, and oysters were all terrific. The appetizer portions were small for the prices but the mains were nicely sized. Desserts were nothing to right home about. My elderly ish parents would have loved the food, but they would not have been able to hear a thing over the din.
I've been to Wallabout a number of times and the quality of the food this time was poor. The octopus was rubbery and void of taste. This is a dish I've had many times before but it was extremely below par. The roasted eggplant had no taste and was overcooked. This dish was not edible. The Branzino and the seafood linguini were okay I can only imagine that the chef has changed or was on vacation because the food was significantly below the standard that I've enjoyed on many previous occasions.
We visited Wallabout after a movie at BAM and wondered why we had never been there before as it is a pleasant 8-block walk from the Peter J Sharpe campus. The semolina-dusted calamari were light, light, light; the grilled octopus was another satisfying small plate. The seafood linguini was fine, but it was overshadowed by a dover sole fish special. The service was memorably attentive.
