However, upon further investigation, I found many one-star reviews that were not reflected in their overall rating. The Thai Iced Coffee I ordered was very basic and not impressive. The eggplant basil dish lacked spice, was poorly cooked, and tasted like a generic Chinese food sauce. The fried oysters were decent, but nothing special. Overall, the food did not resemble authentic Thai cuisine and tasted more like low-quality Chinese takeout. I would have given a 2-star rating for the oysters, but the discrepancy in ratings on Seamless compelled me to give them only 1 star. It seems that they may have purchased fake ratings and reviews. (I was unable to rate and review them on Seamless, but they do not deserve a perfect 5-star rating)
I ordered the Tom kha gai and it was disappointing. The addition of red curry paste made it taste nothing like authentic Thai cuisine. The soup also had tomato slices in it, which seemed out of place. If you are going to serve Thai food, please make sure it is done correctly. Unfortunately, this version of the soup was not enjoyable at all.
I thought I was ordering Thai food, but what I got was not authentic at all. I ordered pad Thai and received lo mein with crushed peanuts and lime instead. I was very disappointed and confused by the misleading menu. It seems like this restaurant is trying to pass off as a Thai place, but the quality of the food is more like a low-grade Chinese restaurant. On the positive side, the prices are very cheap. If you are craving Thai cuisine, I would not recommend this place as it will only leave you disappointed.
The absolute worst food I've had delivered in NYC in as long as I can remember. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here because I agree with all that they're saying. This is certainly not Thai food, which my family loves. Instead it's like Chinesefood with a little bit of Thai influence but everything is of extremely poor quality and just plain gross. The other person'sreview of the mango rice is spot-on. It wasn't just bad food, it was totally inedible. We placed an order of over $70 and whenwe called to complain they refused to give us a refund. I don't enjoy posting bad reviews but I really hope that no one elsesuffers like we did. Yummy Thai looks like it's a part of another restaurant next door that allegedly serves Chinese and Sushi.Stay away!
The restaurant has charming decorations, excellent customer service, and tasty dishes. I have visited a few times and while I can't confirm if the food is truly authentic Thai cuisine, it is definitely delicious.
