A friend and I went for our morning coffee brunch at MoMo. Set amid the canyons and offices in leafy Bruce, it is a veritable oasis of tranquility (we sat outside). A house/hut type place, incongruous in ultra modern, contemporary Canberra, a venue of famed sporting stars from the nearby Australian Institute of Sport as well as the homes of two Canberra rugby (League and Union) teams, the Raiders and the Brumbies. My friend had a sumptuous breakfast of eggs and accoutrements, I some huge slabs of home made raisin toast. But a sizeable menu exists, and for other meals too. Good coffee too
Staff are welcoming, the space inviting and kid-friendly, but we won't be back.$74.40 for 4 plates of food and 2 coffees is pretty rich, but tolerable if the food is good - this wasn't! The kids ordered pancakes and french toast, both of which appeared fresh and delicious upon presentation, but under all that icing sugar were visibly BURNT pieces - one on each plate, cleverly hidden and facing down on the plate. The kids were part way through before we realised. When asked while paying, how our meal was, we told them about the burnt food.Apologies, but no offer of a discount was offered. Poor, poor, customer service! Don't ask at the end how a meal is and then do nothing to compensate the customer for an unacceptable experience.Short opening hours and very quiet when we were there - we should have steered clear.
Great little cafe tucked away in Bruce. The menu was simple but flexible for breakfast. Eggs Benedict was perfect with one of the nicest hollandaise sauces I have had anywhere. Coffee was excellent and we finished with take away frappe. I had the vegan berry which was excellent. Servings were generous and we certainly didn't need lunch. Waitstaff were attentive without hovering and the orders came at a pleasant pace. We will certainly be back.
Needed a coffee whilst I was packing up a nearby unit and chose this venue due to its location. The cafe is surrounded by units, and corporate buildings that provide its custom. There were tables inside and outside, parking out the front but I suspect most people just walk once they are at work. There is a good range of things to eats whether a slice of a focaccia. Seemed the price for focaccia's is just under $10.00.Coffee was reasonable but cheaper than expected. Saw another person have a card for free coffees after a certain amount of cups.Good buzz free papers to read in Cafe, and good service.
