I had the Parmesan encrusted whitefish, au gratin potatoes and my husband had the brook trout with a loaded baked potato both served with side salads. The fish was good, au gratin were terrible, and the side salads were sad. Service was overall good. I would eat here again but would go with the loaded baked instead of the au gratin.
I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I went to sit on the patio for the live music event, which was the highlight of the evening. However, the service was extremely slow and I was never asked how my meal was. I was excited to try the ribeye, but it was much smaller than advertised and lacked flavor. The baked potato was overcooked and seemed stale. I wanted a glass of wine with my meal, but the server was nowhere to be found. When he finally showed up, he smelled like smoke and the food was mediocre at best. I will not be returning to this restaurant and will instead go to DLB, which I know is always great. It's unfortunate because I wanted to give this place a chance. The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one is because of the beautiful setting and the music. Having grown up in the area and visited every summer for over 50 years, this will likely be my last time at this restaurant. Live and learn!
We had a fantastic dining experience at The Rainbow Room restaurant in Brutus, Michigan. Located in the middle of nowhere, this hidden gem offers a beautiful view. After a round of golf at Hidden River golf course, we decided to have dinner here. We shared the Maple River salmon dish, which was served with a side salad (the poppyseed dressing was delightful), chef's vegetables (spinach and carrots), and a choice of potato. Every bite was delicious. Although there was a $4 split charge, the half portions were generous and almost as big as full dinners.
I had a wonderful dining experience at a restaurant located by the maple river. The atmosphere was fantastic, and I enjoyed a craft cocktail along with a delicious and generous serving of blended beef meatballs over rich tomato sauce spaghetti. Don't forget to leave some room for the cherry sorbet, it's a must-try! The staff was very welcoming and made the experience even better.
