Sideways Inn - Buellton

Rooms: Spotless and fully equipped. Food and drinks: There's a market, gas stations, Starbucks, Wingstop, and Jack in the Box all nearby.

Typically, I don't give one-star reviews, as it takes a significant failure for me to do so. However, I have to make an exception in this case. When we checked in, my wife entered our room only to find that the bed was unmade, a projector was on, and the bathroom light was switched on. Thankfully, she wasn’t harmed and quickly returned to the car. When I reported this incident, the staff did the right thing by offering us another room, but it was located next to the food truck and the bar, resulting in a lot of noise. We went from a pleasant room near the lobby to a much noisier location across the way, which felt like a poor response to someone who had just experienced something unsettling and unsafe. I definitely won't be staying here again, regardless of my interest in movies!

Sideways Inn is situated in an ideal location, conveniently near Flying Flags and other attractions. The room was clean upon our arrival, but there were quite a few spider webs on the patio. Despite a minor issue with breakfast, the fact that it was provided was a great bonus. The rooms were comfortable for relaxation and a good night's sleep. I will definitely be returning!

As for the rooms, they are spacious, and the bathroom is generous in size as well. Access to the pool area is a breeze. In terms of nearby activities, there are plenty of options like Solvang, shopping destinations, delicious restaurants, and my favorite wineries. I had no safety concerns during my stay.

The cable and Wi-Fi at the hotel are not great, and there’s quite a bit of noise coming from other rooms. I found the bed uncomfortable. If you need a place to stay for a night or two, it’s acceptable, as the shower has hot water and there is a space to sleep. However, you could likely find a more affordable option that offers a better experience.
