Starting Gate At The Santa Ynez Valley Marriott

We dined at this restaurant while charging our car at the super charger in the parking lot on a Monday evening at 6:30 pm. We were looking for a nice dinner while waiting and were promptly seated as the restaurant was almost empty. When the waitress came to take our orders, I mentioned my dairy allergy and asked for recommendations. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean Chicken and Linguini without cheese or butter, while my husband ordered a chicken dish. We were surprised when the bread only arrived after our meals were served and I had to ask if it was included. The food took too long to arrive, and although mine was piping hot, my husband's was cold. Unfortunately, both dishes were heavily flavored with garlic.

We loved the special touches at this restaurant, such as the elegant black tablecloths, fresh roses, and rose petals on the table. We were greeted with champagne and warm bread, setting a lovely tone for the evening. The cream of broccoli soup and salad were delicious, and our lobster tail and 6oz prime rib dinner were both outstanding. The prime rib was perfectly cooked, and we ended our meal with a delightful mango mousse cake. The wait staff was attentive, ensuring our water glasses were filled and each course was brought out promptly. We typically don't dine out on Valentine's Day, but we were so glad we did!

Food was pretty good, but the burgers came with mayo spread on both sides though menu didn't specify this. Menu should list all the ingredients so people can ask to remove any they're allergic to before the food is prepared.

It only arrived after they served our meal and I specifically asked if the meal came with bread. It took far too long for the food to arrive. Mine was piping hot but my husband's food was cold. Both were badly overpowered with garlic.

From beginning to end, everything was delicious! I was a bit worried about the cauliflower soup; however, to my surprise, it was very tasty! I had a romantic and delightful dinner with my sweetheart. Can't wait to come back for another special occasion.
