The Mariner North Resort

This restaurant is a great place to eat in town, especially given the limited options available. It functions as both a bar and a dining venue. The service was attentive, and I was happy enough with my experience to come back for a second visit. Every dish I tried was well-prepared and full of flavor. I had the steak and pork chops, both of which were quite satisfying, even in a town known for its whitefish. While I wouldn’t say it was the best meal I’ve ever had, it definitely offered good value for its price and location. There are a few more upscale restaurants worth exploring, but this one is highly praised for its fish dishes. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. On our last night, we shared the space with a women's mountain biking group that came in for dinner, which added to the fun atmosphere.

The prices were generally reasonable, although the ribeye I was interested in was $28, which I was willing to pay, but it's only available at dinner. I'm not quite sure why that is. The kids enjoyed their meals, though. As for the steak salad, it came with sirloin instead of the filet I would have preferred. While it wasn't my top choice, it was decent for sirloin. I found it a bit odd that instead of a proper steak, I received sliced pieces that seemed to have been partially cooked and then reheated. It was strange, but they tasted fine—just not exceptional. I’m reluctant to recommend this place unless you’re just looking for a quick meal. I definitely wouldn’t make a special trip to go back.

We had a great dinner here. We went early and the place filled quickly. The vegetarian food selection was better than we've seen in larger towns. The food was good and the service was fine, they were very busy! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20

Really great food with friendly and helpful staff. The Portside Grilled Cheese may have been one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. We were made to feel welcome even with a small carry-out order and invited to sit and order a beverage while we waited, which we did. Would love to come back sometime for a full meal.
