Sun Beach - Calvi

We have eaten during the day and had nice meals at night. this place is a hidden gem on the beach with reasonable trips, great eating and a child-friendly atmosphere. I can't recommend it enough.

Beautiful terrace view over the sea. after we had a surfeit of pizza, and given the fact that we are vegetarian, the choice was limited to pasta with tomato sauce and sweet risotto. quite usual, but the pasta really tasted good. the Mediterranean salate was a disappointment-...no avocado, as advertised, and tasteless tomato. wein at pitcher, which is good. go to the location.

As shirley b in juli we have every day on sun beach (as we have done more or less for years after calvi!) dominique and tony are very welcoming, the lunchtime paninis and a beer are always one. good bet and the restaurant on the top floor has a wider menu including fresh fish and is recommended for the beautiful view and good eating on the evening as well as midday.

We are here twice. The first time was okay but he brought our ice cream in a cone and brought us bread after we said we were gluten free. Some french people like bread so much that they forget. The second time, we notified the...same waiter that we were allergic to gluten and he brought a salad with toast in it. When we sent it back, he simply removed the toast and brought the same salad back with toast crumbles all over it. That is not acceptable for a true gluten allergy. This place does not appreciate special dietary needs.

Just come back from weeks in Calvi, every day spent at the Sun Beach. We ate at the tables on the beach every day which had a regular menu plus daily specials on meat and fish. The food was always good, especially the pizzas...and the Moules au Roquefort! Also ate in the restaurant upstairs, where there are additional items on the menu, again the food was excellent. The setting of the restaurant is exceptional, possibly one of the best in Calvi, set on, but overlooking the beach, looking towards the town and citadel and to the mountains spectacular! The welcome at both was very warm and the two young waitresses very efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.
