Feedback gevenWe drop by this place several times a year and once again, great food and service. The Waitress informed us they would be closing for a while soon but would re-open again. We ordered the house special. Only drawback here is that pop is served in cans and quite expensive compared to other restaurants.
Tasteful and abundant food for a friend's price. The waitress didn't seem to want to be there that day, it seemed to be in a hurry despite the few customers present. It will be the only negative point for this well-located place whose menu surprises its variety. There seems to be no general tao in Newfoundland!
Came here while waiting for our Ferry and we're we're craving Asian food, so we decided to check this place out. The prices were moderate. We had fried wontons, fried rice, chicken balls, etc. The food was really tasty actually, but the services was average. They didn't check on us once, our drinks never got refilled, and we had to call the waitress over multiple times to get more sauce, for the bill, to pay, etc. I guess I wasn't expecting much from this place from a service level either. But it was worth it for the food.
We got a take out from here the night we arrived on the ferry and ate it at our nearby B and B. We enjoyed every bit and there was no leftovers in sight. Although typical Asian fare, there were some interesting combination plates. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant and helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations. The landlady at our B and B told us this was her and her husband's 'go to' place when they wanted to eat out. One of the better spots in Port Aux Basque.
Pros: Food was okay. Prices are good for the amount of food you get.Cons: The food was only okay. Ordered water with our meals, but were informed that the town was under a boil-water advisory (true) but we were not allowed to get our water from our car and would have to pay almost $2 for bottled water. Ended up splitting a single 12 oz. can of pop that also almost cost $2.
