We have been here a few times for dinner and the food has always been superb. This time we tried the place for lunch. The menu was limited, as the dinner menu, which is fine. I would rather have a small specialised menu than a large run of the mill menu. I ordered the pork dish (I'm not sure the name) and my wife ordered the mixed green salad with a grilled chicken breast add on. The pork was interesting. It came in what looked like a rice bowl. The presentation was decent. The pork looked and tasted very much like pulled pork dish, though the flavour was quite unique. It was on the sweet side. It came with toasted bread pieces and some seasonal veggies mixed in. I wasn't sure what to make of the the 2x1x1/2 inch slab of pork blubber that was strategically placed on top of the dish. Was it purely for presentation, or was I expected to actually enjoy eating it? Not sure. I chose not to eat the blubber. Not my thing. Perhaps the kitchen mistook it for a fine piece of pork and included it in the meal. Anyway, the dish could have done fine without it. All in all, the pork dish was relatively satisfying. My wife said her salad was one of the best she has had, anywhere. The leaves were extremely fresh and the chicken breast cooked perfectly. She chose to have a balsamic dressing instead of the licorice based one it came with. She wasn't sure how the licorice based dressing would mesh with the rest of the ingredients. Our lunch was very enjoyable, especially with the spectacular views of the ocean from the dining room. One last thing, the lunch menu is very reasonably priced for the quality of food and presentation you get. The service was punctual and the staff were very accommodating. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner
It's a beautiful little resort that has a little Tea House restaurant and cabins. It was here that we stopped for lunch and have no regrets for it....The view from our table! Our table had a fantastic view...
The best of everything. Amazing food, views, and service at very reasonable prices. Wish I could just live here....
Amazing Marinated Salmon. Seasonal, so if you get the chance, order it for dinner. The flavours of everything on the dish compliment each other so well. As you can see, it's also very visually pleasing. 30 Jul, 2014 On a recommendation, we tried this place and we were absolutely not disappointed. Our meals were amazing. We were told the menu changes regularly based on season and availability of ingredients. We skipped the appetizers, nothing on the menu really stood out. The obligatory pre meal bread we were brought was made in house. It was nothing spectacular. It was fresh, but not fresh enough where it didn't need to be warmed up a bit. For the mains, my wife tried the salmon and I tried the chicken. They were both amazing. They were both visually appealing, which was backed up by the outstanding quality and flavour of the dishes. The salmon more so than the chicken, but the chicken wasn't far behind. The combination of flavours and accompanying sides with the salmon, were not only creative, but very tasty. The salmon was marinated and cooked perfectly. It took a masterful chef to come up with very interesting flavour combinations. The same could be said about the chicken. Well cooked and flavourful. The view really complimented the outstanding meal. If there is one drawback (and this is being very picky), it's the dessert menu. If 1/2 the thought and creativity went into the dessert menu as the rest of the menu, the desserts would cap off a spectacular evening. Unfortunately, the desserts fall far short of the mark. It's almost as the desserts come from a different kitchen than the rest of the meals. After such a gastronomic high of the splendid main course, we were brought down to earth with a thud, by the desserts. They lacked creativity, flavour and visual appeal, the total opposite of the main courses. Did the same chef oversee the desserts? What a let down. I wished we didn't order the desserts, so as to keep the feelings of the remarkable highs of our dinners. Instead, we were left pondering, how a restaurant that obviously prides itself on such a high level of quality, creativity, flavours and visual appeal of it's dishes, could drop the ball so carelessly with their desserts? It really is surprising. Non the less, we were left with a lovely final touch of two delicious chocolate truffles that accompanied our bill. It was a nice, subtle, non traditional touch, much more creative than the trite and traditional mints. In closing, I would absolutely recommend this establishment for an exceptional meal and fine dining experience, at a reasonable price. Just plan on having dessert some place else (unless they elevate their dessert standards or hire a proper pastry chef) and your evening will be perfect. This place is a real gem. I highly recommend it!
