We had marinated olives and a wonderful radicchio salad. The pizzas were also terrific and we had a funghi pizza and special escarole and Italian sausage pizza. The crust was super crunchy and extremely thin which is rather different from the neapolitan style pizzas which are a hair thicker with a note robust crust. We'r also had a wonderful Primitivo wine with our meal, but they have some nice beer and draft alcohol (prosecco, negronis) and handmade cocktails. Convenient parking with a nice lot. Definitely will be back!
1st time at Coronato. We weren?t disappointed. Staff was attentive and helpful (on the ball) and pizzas were delicious. We hope to go back to try other items on the menu, but we really wanted to check out the thin crust pizzas. I really liked the decor. Clean modern look.
WOW. If I have to summarize my visit in one word that?s the only one I could choose. I drive past this shopping center most days, and the building has kept me in suspense, but to be honest the new pizzeria didn?t particularly attract me. While I always enjoy visiting new restaurants, I already have my area pizza favorites and go-to?s selected. To be honest, glancing at the menu the prices seemed a bit high to this student. The price turned out to be absolutely worth it. I stopped by on a whim after walking the shopping center. Despite it being 5ish on a Thursday the place quickly filled up, not enough to make tables a commodity, but enough that it seemed unusual given the day and time. We got the meatballs, suppli, four cheese pizza and the tiramisu. The meatballs were by far the best I?ve ever had. Never before had a meatball basically melted in my mouth. I tend to stay away from ricotta as the times I?ve had it I find the texture grainy, but the ricotta that came with the lamb meatballs was lighter and smoother than sour cream. It was a fantastic combination of flavors, between the ricotta, the lamb meatballs, the mint and the tomato based sauce. The suppli too was great. I wasn?t sure what it was, but it?s very similar to arancini and we absolutely enjoyed it. We chose the special suppli that had various mushrooms and the aroma of the mushrooms somehow made it through the cheese and rice. It was fantastic. By that point we were full since we?d stopped by unexpectedly and weren?t quite hungry. We took the pizza and the tiramisu home. Both were every bit as fantastic as the dishes before it. The four cheese pizza was thin and crispy, the cheeses strong. It had some ingredient we couldn?t put our finger on that made it seem different from other four cheese pizzas we?d had before, but in an absolutely positive way. I tend to get simpler pizzas such as margherita or four cheese because I find that it gives me a better sense of the ingredients, and this one did no
What a great experience! Solid new restaurant for pizza for sure. Food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, definitely well worth the cost. Right now, they have a 3 course tasting menu that we went for last night. It was just right. It starts you out with a choice of fried or fresh appetizer. We got the falafel and fritti to try. Both were delicious, not too much, delicately fried. The pizza was up next. Both of our pies were great. She got the il Verde and I got the capricciosa. Both were fantastic. Crust was crispy, toppings were fresh and the amount just right. Mine was definitely wild but I loved it. If you love meats and runny eggs on your pizza, go for it. Definitely opt for the Chile oil. Desserts were fantastic. I got their take on a tiramisu, it was pretty great. She got the bamboloni, those things were killer, I could eat a pile of those alone. I would go to a store and buy a dozen of those things right now. We didn't get pictures of the desserts but they were not very big and very worth it. Portion sizes were just right all the way through. They have liquor, beer and wine. Great choices are on tap and bottle. We got a bottle of wine that wasn't expensive but still pretty good (Nero d'Avola). It's hard to find good restaurants around here, and this is one of them. We will definitely be back.
Saw them on Instagram and knew I needed to check this place out. I was out with my family and we tried to go to a few other places, but we couldn't get a seat for over an hour. When we pulled in to Coronato we were able to get a table imediately. We shared a bag of fries for the table, and everyone got the Rome Tasting menu. The food was fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a new place for tasty pizza, look no further.
