Feedback gevenTL;DR: over rated and over priced. I would rate it 4 stars but it just does not justify itself for the price. I was told that the beef tongue is awesome, and it did turn out to be good, however not awesome. The jidory chicken is also not bad but nothing special. I was putting high expectations on the yakitori but they were just average and I would have forgotten about them by now if not for the photos. Chazuke is good but a bit too salty in my opinion. Oh I also ordered a negi-toro roll but it was nothing photo worthy. I also did not like the fact that the waitress kept asking me to order so frequently after I was seated, but took quite a while to swip my card.

I used to love coming here but everything about this place has changed. Besides covid experience, i tried to be rational about everything but from service to food.... everything is different from before. Most of the items that i come here for were not available, sold out? Sold out after an hour of opening? Thought it was just this time but i tried to come in and order those entrees multiple times and it wasn’t available as well. Their service seems to be struggling. Had reservation but was seated after a long wait.Very disappointing experience. Sad how the restaurant have changed to much
My last visit was Xmas Sure missed the best Izakaya in LA because of COVID. But Hachi has survived and is still Ichiban in my opinion!!. With expanded nigiri sushi and great classic Izakaya dishes plus truly outstanding hospitality from Japanese servers, this joint was packed under the tent. And my dog was welcome to join us. That’s about as good as it can get!!
