Really good latte! We ordered a latte and a drip coffee. There was no cream, so the barista offered whole milk with the drip coffee. I declined and asked for another latte instead. I was so pleasantly surprised with the latte. I would highly recommend it! Also, the person preparing the coffee was so kind and patient.
I was super excited to try this place. Google and their website mentioned they open at 7AM but I waited a few minutes and they never opened. I was on my way to a meeting and had no time to detour to another coffee place so this was an unfortunate experience.
Devout is a sought-after coffee shop for coffee seekers and they've expanded over the last few years. Now I don't have to make the trek to Niles to enjoy their delicious brew because they have a spot at the Lake Chabot Public Market in Castro Valley! They have a trailer parked outside the food hall that I always have to make a stop at whenever I'm in the area. Their menu is pretty straightforward and offers the classic coffee and latte variations. I am a particular fan of their mocha as it's got a great balance of cocoa flavor without compromising the boldness of the espresso. Every now and then they offer a seasonal drink. Last fall I got to try their Autumn Spice, which was their take on a spiced latte. This was an instant favorite and I can't wait for it to come back next year! The service and vibe of the barista slinging out drinks was so warm and friendly.
