Don Jose's Mexican Castro Valley

It is a sweet place and they serve margaritas, but the food is very bland. Chips and salsa were good for the kids. Great place for a big meeting.

The food was blah, no spices and clearly not authentic mexican. I added salsa, salt and pepper to my food; it has not improved the taste of food. There were only a few people, and now I know why. I'll never eat there again. What a disappointment, not good. I threw the left. You need to rent a real Mexican cook that knows where to cook Mexican cuisine. I'm very disappointed.

Wow! Absolutely wore! I had Chili Verde and it was amazing. The other two dishes were Malinche. But the portions were little smaller than Mexican restaurant we usually eat; this is a Bay area though.

I love Don Joses!!! I have been here for 20 years, I have never disappointed with food or service, after all these years the food has never changed, salsa is delicious has a great taste and spices, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the spicy Enchiladas dish, they are so good I can eat them every day and never tired of them.

I can't give this place enough love. My husband and I come here regularly and it NEVER disappoints. The food is great (our go to is the fajitas), the staff is ALWAYS friendly and the vibe in there is comfortable and feels like home. I will always love Don Jose's and will always be a regular. If you haven't tried this place out, I HIGHLY recommend you do.
