Retro Deli Tavern - Central City

I'm sorry to say that this deli, hidden inside a casino, was one of the strangest places I've ever visited. My friends and I were looking for lunch and ice cream yesterday, but the employee on duty was preoccupied cleaning the freezer and showed no interest in helping us. We waited for over five minutes, and he was clearly aware we were there. Often, when a place feels off, it usually is, and it's best to walk away and find an alternative—and this was definitely one of those cases. As we were leaving, another customer attempted to order, and the employee loudly shouted at his coworker to assist him. From my experience, the food here seemed overpriced and of very low quality.

I approached the deli counter about 5-6 minutes before closing and was warmly welcomed by Eddie, who patiently waited while I made my decision. After asking a few questions about the menu, I opted for a pepperoni pizza, and Eddie happily began preparing my order. I felt a bit guilty for ordering so close to closing time, but Eddie's professionalism throughout the process was impressive, and I must say, the pizza was delicious—I’m really glad I got it! Earlier in the day, I had visited the deli to grab a drink, and the young man working the morning shift also displayed a positive and friendly attitude toward customers. Kudos to both of them for their exceptional customer service—thank you! One note: the posted hours of operation on this app need to be updated. Go Raider fans!

If you're okay with the staff handling your food without gloves while preparing it, this deli isn't too bad. That doesn’t really bother me, so I had a pretty good gyro at a reasonable price. Having worked in the food service industry, I do notice when gloves aren't commonly used. But overall, the food itself was enjoyable. Just a quick note: it's not a tavern; it's located downstairs just outside the restaurant at Century Casino, while the bar is on the casino floor.

Absolutely amazing! The food is quick, served hot, and is a delight for the taste buds. They offer the finest ice cream in town!

Out of the four dishes we tried, only the roast beef stood out and received high praise. The gravy and biscuits were served cold, and the replacement that came out hot was only mediocre. While the portion sizes were generous, the coffee was very weak. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
