Mindemoya Grill & Chill Restaurant and Takeout

This was a typical small-town roadside hamburger joint. Just what you would expect. The kettle chips were good. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms were clean. You could sit inside or outside. You could order from the inside or outside like a chip truck.

Small stringy dry piece of whitefish in rock-hard batter shell cooked in old fat, ok chips. Gloopy vivid yellow "lemon" meringue pie filling in industrial-strength crust, topped w weepy meringue.

Have gone twice on this trip and had a great experience both times. A very busy little place but the staff was wonderful and friendly even tho they were running there butts off. Great food and great portions as well. Thank you we will be back on our next trip to the island.

During the two weeks we spent in Mindemoya, we ate at the Grill and Chill restaurant 4 times. The food was simply delicious! The seating area and restaurant was spic and span. The people serving us were lovely. The food served is family fare, 'home-cooked' with generous portions. The french fries were hand-pressed. The salads are fresh, crisp and tasty. They serve a wide variety of dinners, appetizers and side dishes. The restaurant is well attended by the locals - a good sign. I hope the Chill & Grill remains in business for many years to come! We will be back.

I'll start with the bad. The happy face on the sign is super cheesy. The fries needed 2 more minutes in the fryer. These were the 2 reasons for only 4 stars. There were a few other issues with our meal, but I'm chalking them up to inexperienced staff, which is expected and should be tolerated in a highly seasonal tourist area. They forgot EVERYTHING ;-P We ordered the specials and had to ask for our beverages (they came with the meal), the lemons to go with our fish & chips, my partner's gravy & the cream for her coffee.Here is the good. The fish was absolutely delicious! Crispy coating on the outside and flaky fish on the inside. Just perfect. The coleslaw was excellent as well, which I consider an important part of having a good fish & chips. The staff were extremely polite. The older guy with the Captain Picard haircut (or the Friar Tuck haircut) didn't stop the entire time we were in there, people could learn from him.
