Our family loves this restaurant! we enjoyed eating here for over 25 years! eating is always excellent as the wine and service. the chef will still make a special dish for me that he first made for me when I 12 years old. it is still exceptional 25 years later! genuine French food in a traditional French restaurant! the environment makes such a pleasant experience. if they are in the opposite, please visit this restaurant and they will not be disappointed!
First impressions are not always right. This place has a somewhat faded and past its prime look about it viellot I think would about cover it in French). In its glory days this place was indeed a hotel restaurant; today it 's only a restaurant....A fairly large place which was virtually empty when I visited for dinner only one table occupied). So I was prepared for a ho hum dinner, and since this is pretty much the only game in town for dinner and certainly the only one open that night) I resigned myself to a forgettable evening. All this by way of introduction. I had a very pleasant meal, served by the owner who 's husband is the chef; it seems to be a two person operation). The quality of the meals was much higher than I expected the chef clearly does make an effort to produce something a bit special and he succeeds. The menu is reasonably traditional with some interesting offerings in the daily fixed menu, which I had. The service was pleasant and personable. There was no problem with having cheese instead of the dessert which was proposed as part of the menu, and a second glass of the, quite good, red wine served from a just opened bottle) was offered to go with the cheese. Admittedly, with only two tables to serve, one should expect good service! The bill for a three course menu, 2 glasses of wine, and coffee came to Euro 29. I never can understand how a place like this could survive, and it does seem as if its days might be numbered due to lack of business to support it. That would be a shame, since it really is better than you might expect.
Hello! I spent here 2 days ago an unforgettable evening. it was an absolutely delightful experience and eating was exceptional. the restaurant is part of an experience I had from rural france. we were two families who spent 3 hours there and with. the memory of an evening we want to repeat.
Dining at the Charlemagne restaurant is a five-star experience from beginning to end. Not only is the foode sensational (all courses) but the personal service provided by maître de Katy is matched only by the way chef Pierre cooks and presents his offerings. A table...of four enjoyed the step price menu which at 34 euro is exceptional value for three courses. I have not tasted better food in all my visits to France.
