We swam in the lake, jump from the diving board (3 levels) and enjoyed our time there. Nice and organized place with showers and toilets. there is also a slide into the water fitted for kids. Price depends on how much time you plane to stay there.
Came across this place while trying to navigate a cross country route from thundery Lucerne to sunny Turin. Was a magical surprise in an otherwise disappointing day. We had a delightful light lunch by the waters edge and enjoyed the sunshine and scenery for an hour or two. Food was basic but delicious and the service was friendly, polite and welcoming to non-Italian speaking strangers. Don’t miss out on this gem if you’re in the area!
We decided to take a train from Turin and spent the day at the lake. It was perfect. Everything on offer was affordable and we were given a great spot in the sun (which we asked for). Wasn’t too crowded and the age variation was pretty even. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, they forgave our poor Italian and even gave us a ride back to the train station (special thanks to Alessandro). If you have time, give it a go. You won’t regret it.
This review is for the bathing establishment. Very pricey for what is on offer (we paid almost 30 euro for a Sunday afternoon in July, 2 adults and one child . Avoid with children, there is almost nothing on offer for them. The lawn is well kept, that’s about it for what the place has to offer. The children’s bathing area is small and only offers two slides for toddlers. The draconian rules (no flip flops in the lawn, no eating and drinking, at all including water as far as I could figure, on the lawn, active games only allowed in the terrible volley court make it almost impossible to have a nice time as a family: you end up playing bad cop all day or have the staff telling you off within seconds if something doesn’t meet their expectations. The (beach? volley court is terrible when we went was muddy from the previous day’s rain (the surface is made of compact earth and small pebbles or large sand grains, not sure which .
Fabulous views, amazing ambiance, welcoming hosts, superb Greek salad and delicious lemon Granitta! Doggy heaven!! The owners have a number of much loved animals so understand the difficulties in taking doggies to the lake and still relax! They've created a super doggy friendly area with sunbed, umbrellas, a great grass lawn, shower and water facilities. Easy access through a gate right next to the lake which means no complaints from sunbathers! That's not all ... they've even created a slope into the water to make it easier for our doggy sweethearts to get in and out of the lake. Very well thought out and beautifully executed with much hard work. Excellent and perfect Couldn't praise it more!! Well done Chalet Moia!
