We went every Mother's Day and Father's day plus other random times throughout the year. We were excited to learn they had moved into the city of Oneonta which is a quaint town with lots of character. We visited on Mother's Day this year and were pleased with the food but the service was a little slow, but of course we returned, this time for my birthday. This trip the service was on point (our waitress was Martha) and the food was good but the chicken tasted poorly and the steak was super fatty and tasted lower grade than usual in several of our dishes around the table with the family. We all agreed that the taste of our dishes that we were very familiar with weren't as appetizing as we remembered. We told the waitress and she shared that they had changed vendors and the meat quality wasn't as good and there had been other complaints. We are going again tomorrow for Father's Day so we are hoping to have a better experience with our menu choices. If not it may be the last time we choose to eat here for a while. I want to give them five stars because I remember what they use to be but I'm giving four stars due to changes that has decreased our experience with them as well as the quality of food.
Love love love this place. Food is always good and staff is amazing. The Land and Sea is at the top of Chart. Had lunch at the new location in Oneonta Friday. It just keeps getting better. The food is FABULOUS, the service is 100% the best. The new building is beautiful. We were even treated to a performance on the stand up piano. It was amazing to see a customer playing and the whole restaurant stopped to listen and applaud. Worth the drive from any place to have 1st class food and service.
Great family place. We were met at the door by a very sweet woman who gave a hug and said happy Valentine's Day. It was a large group and we didn't want to go to the normal places because service is so long. However this restaurant was clean the people were great the food came out quick and it was more than delicious. I ordered Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and tasted phenomenal! Real mash potatoes and a wonderful homemade gravy- highly recommended. My hunny had the lasagna which was also delicious. After the meal we all were so impressed we wanted to taste the homemade tiramisu. Let's just say they could have mistaken the plate for being clean. Gone in a flash! I likely will visit this place every time I'm in the area. It doesn't look like much when you drive up but don't let that stop you.
This was our second trip to this restaurant. We were just as happy as the first trip. Don't let the small building turn you away. This place is so awesome. I had a steak on both visits. Both times they were perfectly seasoned and cooked as ordered. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time. My husband had lasagna the first time and raved about it. This time he had a bowl of pasta with Italian sausage and chicken with mushrooms in a basil sauce and fresh mozzarella. I had a helping and it was terrific. He talked about it all the way home about how good it was. Sophia was our waitress tonight. She is very welcoming and attentive. She made sure we had all that we needed. Almost left off one of the best parts. We got dessert to go. Dessert was Tiramisu. This was the classic recipe. Wonderful!! I have only had it twice before, this one beat both of them out. You could tell this was homemade and made with love. Rich and creamy. With just the right amount of espresso and Kahlua.
This place is amazing! We shared the fried ravioli, fried shrimp, filet mignon and ravioli del poll. It was all fantastic. Well worth the drive!
