Amuse Bistro - Cobble Hill

I arrived at the restaurant at 2pm and it wasn't crowded. The hostess seated me at a small table for one that was surrounded by plants.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, but the service is what truly sets it apart. Our family has some specific dietary sensitivities, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.

I have watched this restaurant grow and evolve since its opening, and it is still regarded as a good dining option in the town of Sidney.

We turned up on spec to a splendid garden setting and were welcomed warmly. Service was excellent - knowledgeable and friendly. The food was well presented, served promptly, without being too quick to preclude careful preparation, and used local produce with distinction. It was quiet, so neither the kitchen nor the wait-staff were stretched. The cost was reasonable. While Cherry Point wines may have some way to go to be up-market, the whites were just right for an informal lunch on that day.

Sinced they moved to Cherry Point they have been working very hard to catch up. The food is still very good but the location is not great. The patio is very nice, but inside is pretty plain. The service varies. Hopefully once they get better settled they will be back to their old standards of great food and service.
