Feedback gevenIn the Cologne city scoreboard – very lonely – there are often tips for various gastronomy and events. The proposals come from various editors or employees. And they have different preferences. Carsten Henn is for me almost a bank; his judgment almost always covers with his own observations. But at Julia Floß, for example, I sometimes have problems. I'm sure it's mine. The young learned cook may be quite different from me. That's all right, because where would we go if everyone had the same taste? Nevertheless, I read the article about “beautiful” cafes and looked out one of them in the area. Finally, we had already consumed a “Pulled Pork” on Aachener Straße and a coffee and a piece of cake should still fit. Ambience So we went past the restaurant. We didn't like it so well from outside. But also the other locals were no longer inviting. Inside it was then also quite nicely furnished. But the air stood in the room, and it seemed a little swollen; the last days had been hot – but today it looked rather rainy. We did not go through the whole place; because the long “sleeping” went down. There were plenty of free places. So we went back to the street because it wasn't that stubborn there. Tables on the street The folding tables and chairs did not look as comfortable as the furniture inside. The road was also very close. But what is it? It should be enough for cakes. Cleanliness Inside it looked more well-kept than on the street side. The toilet plant was then a “world trip” from outside. It went through the whole place past the counter around the corner, out of the actual cafe over a hallway to a staircase in the basement. There were the very small cabins. Very narrow and somewhat neglected this day. Service It probably wasn't much going on that day. A young woman and a young man made the service – one behind the counter, one with the guests. Both were not unfriendly, but also not particularly motivated. The young man didn't know so well with the cakes, but he liked to ask and so was quite helpful. The map(s) The map was quite extensive: breakfast in several variants, lunch table, small dishes – we did not find so much about the cake. The waiter told us that he would like to present everything or go to the buffet with us. In a kind of refrigerator with window, the pieces were ready. The choice was quite modest. The ingredients were not clear everywhere. The tasted food cherry cake cheesecake Both specimens were generously cut. Surely they had been baked themselves. A certain juice was felt. But it was not a “wow experience” anyway. When we bake ourselves, we get similar or even better results. Cream Cherry The bottom of cherry cake was relatively firm. The cherry layer was neat but without special flavors. To top was a bright cream layer. Cheesecake The cheese cake was classical. A stable soil and on it the cream layer with light vanilla notes. Top beautiful brown baked. Beans came from Moxxa. The store is right next to the building tower. It was relatively strongly roasted and was therefore slightly sharp. But the overall taste was completely fine; because it was in the width of mild (0 to sharp (5 at approximately level 4 according to my assessment. Conclusion 3 – if it results. We were looking for a restaurant near the hotel and this caffe excited our attention. they did not have many options on the menu, but we found them, but we still ate well. good service and good ambient music. we liked the place so well that we went to the breakfast for another day. to the breakfast there are many possibilities and they can make it according to their wish. when we return to the car, we will repeat it.
The caffe bauturm is beautifully decorated and has a large selection of breakfast alternatives. some broth varieties and coatings, but also jogurh, obst and müsli are offered. also vegan alternatives are available. we were satisfied with our selection consisting of coffee, juice, bread and rolls with sliced and fruit salad. However, it took longer than thought until the food came. Moreover, the food did not come completely, so we had to divorce to get everything ordered. the service was in order, neither unfriendly nor outstanding nice.

I recently spent one night in Koln alone and having rather embarrassingly Googled "hipster Koln", this little gem popped up.My barman Adrian couldn't have been friendlier. He and the other members of staff were obviously having a great time working at the bar and were kind enough to chat to me throughout the evening!Great music, super friendly staff and ace vibes.
