Angry Marlin Restaurant Cool Water Bar

We were excited to dine here after reading the reviews but must have been a different chef. The shrimps was raw inside the jalapeno poppers and tasted odd like it's freezer burn. The shrimp cakes doesn't have any shrimp flavor but mostly just breading. The fish in the fish and chips was bland and batter turned soggy rather quickly after they were served. I gave them 1 extra star for the super friendly server. Though she didn't ask how was the food which was a bit of a disappointment.

The fried calamari was rubbery and the sauce was too spicy. The pulled pork bruschetta was good. The sangrias were very strong.

First visit, and probably last visit, too. Didn 't have the best experience here. While waiting for our table in the bar, the host or hostess gave away our table. No text, no chance to pass on the table, nothing. After about an hour (there was a 45 min wait we checked on table status and that is when we found out our table reservation was given away. Their excuse? We saw you sitting at the bar and assumed you wanted to stay there. Naw, dude, not how you should do things. Then, we had to wait forever to get out food. It was like we dropped to the bottom of the list. There were two bright spots, though. Our bartender Caitlin(? was awesome. And, the burger was actually quite delicious. I gave the second star for our bartender and the burger. Otherwise, it would be one star from me.

If you go here for just drinks live music, you’ll have a good time! They have a lot of variety, and their drinks are tasty. I’m pretty sure I got food poisoning from the southern shrimp. My friend was served a hair in her meal. They comped her a dessert and remade her food, which was awesome. But the food poisoning definitely contributed to my low rating.

Overall unpleasant experience. Ordered calamari and it was bland. The only flavor came from the sweet and sour sauce. Ordered food...took awhile. When it arrived it was not what was expected. Adobo is not bland pork in chili. Was served like chili. The shrimp skewer was okay. We ended up dipping it in the chili...
