Just found out today that they’ve been evicted! It was a huge bummer to my wife and me and a big loss for the community. I hope they make a comeback in a new spot.
If I could give this place a negative 100 I would. The place is a dive. The food they are serving is brought in from outside not made in store as they claim and reheated. It's all pre packaged and over price. The women at the counter is a nasty, unhappy women. The young boy sweeping the floor in there told me she sleeps in the back of the Deli and there is no shower. I threw my food in the garbage and left. Wonder what the Board of Health would think of that?
Review score for bubble tea service. If I could give it negative stars, I would. Didn't try anything else since there was nothing on display and looked very closed down. The server was only giving one word responses to all my questions (including small talk), which deterred me from wanting to order anything else. We ordered ube and blueberry bubble tea here given the high praises from other reviewers (who clearly never had good bubble tea before). They serve artificial powder with hot water on ice, so everything tastes like sugar water. The brown sugar tapioca texture is crunchy, not chewy (the expected texture of tapioca pearls). The popping blueberry bubbles are sugary. I make bubble tea myself at home and can call myself an avid bubble tea connoisseur and this is not it I'm sorry to say it was literally something we felt sick drinking and ended up throwing it all out in the trash. Logically, you'd think the dark purple one is blueberry (if using real ingredients), but it's the ube, and that actually stains your teeth and tongue purple, whereas the blueberry is the pale taro colored drink. Very confusing and clearly not good powders. I was excited that somewhere had ube but was disappointed. It should be a creamy, nutty, vanilla y and floral y ube flavor but just ended up tasting like taro powder. I have better quality taro back home and will not be back here again. I can't even begin to wonder what their dishes would taste like if the bubble tea is so low effort not fresh ingredients...
The bibimbop was delicious although a little oily. As other people have mentioned, the woman who took my order made me feel unwelcome. She was busy with another order so I asked her how long it would take. She rolled her eyes and said 5-10 minutes. Then, I asked her for the menu and she unpleasantly pointed it out to me almost implying 'are you blind that you didn 't see it? ' We all have problems so I didn 't take it personally. Maybe she could take on a different role if she doesn 't like facing customers.
Wish I could leave 0 stars!!! We stopped in a couple of years ago and loved the tea. Tried it again a couple of weeks ago and again, the tea was sooo good but the place was empty, dirty and the one woman working alone was not very pleasant at all. Went back today and it was again empty and we had to wait several minutes for someone to appear at the counter from the back. We let her know we would be ordering 8 bubble teas to go and she rolled her eyes at us and let out a huge sigh. We asked if she didn’t want our business and she threw her hands up in the air with disgust and another eye roll. We let her know that we travelled 30 minutes round trip to be there and we would never do business again there, still no change in her attitude. This place has really gone down hill with an absentee owner and a woman who clearly hates her job and people. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Never again going back.
