Excellent breakfast in house style and lunch. Good food, good portions, excellent service for a good price. Maybe not the best choice when you worry about Kovid. Few males and employees wear masks. The place was crowded at 10:30 on Saturday. If you don't worry, it's an excellent choice. It is located directly on the corner of Hwy 19 and the road to Ft Island Beach
The dining experience was excellent—my server was quick and attentive. I ordered eggs, grits, and a pancake, and it was probably the fastest meal I've had in a long time. It was even faster than fast food but so much better!
To my delight, this place hasn't changed much since I was a child 20 years ago, in the best possible way. The only significant difference I noticed was the renovation of the cabins. I'm thrilled that many of my childhood favorites are still on the menu. The daily specials are frequently updated, which is fantastic. I ordered my childhood favorite, grilled cheese, but swapped out the fries for potato salad. My mother chose the crab cakes, which came with hush puppies, roasted okra, and beets. To my surprise, the crab cakes were the highlight of our meal—perfectly fried and bursting with flavor. Now that I know the kitchen is still serving the same delicious food it has for nearly 30 years, I plan to return more often.
Fantastic home-style food and prices! Went there two of three mornings that I was in town. Warmly welcomed and taken care of by everyone!
