The Pines - DARLINGTON POINT

This small cafe is just around the corner from our house. Its not flash, but its our local and we love it. Hubby grabs a coffee every morning and we enjoy the big Veggie Brekky regularly on Sundays. Its a great place to meetup with friends and family for coffee and cake. There is also a gift shop selling everything from homewares, soft furnishings, jewellery, quirky knick knacks, and clothing.

We drove to Darlington in Perth, Western Australia for a nice stroll, but before heading out, we decided to grab lunch at The Pines Cafe. Unfortunately, our meal of BLT Panini, fries (which were a bit pricey for the portion size), and a tired-looking salad left us feeling disappointed. The fried sweet potato that was supposed to come with the BLT Panini didn't arrive until we asked for it, and we were informed that it had been burned. As a result, we decided to skip our planned coffee as well.

From what was once a run down deli, the new owners have tried to do something never. Ambiance is nice, but a bit confused. Standard of food and beverage and service can be improved considerably

Not had a flat white in every establishment in Australia YET! But of all the ones tried this has been the best by far.Flavoursome,hint of creaminess-( not skinny - unhealthy).No hint of harshness whatsoever.Challenge you to stop at one!Other delights on offer- Danish,cakes, pies and they do traditional breakfast as well.And much more.A confortable setting overlooking a green open area,watch the world go by.The proprietor and team members are relaxed,friendly and welcoming.Attached and developing is an an interesting arts and crafts type studio which is just another reason for a visit.Open everyday except Wednesday from 8 am (although I got served earlier as they opened up) but I can also reveal from a reliable confidential source (who I cannot reveal) that as from 17th Feb they will be opening on Wednesdays as well.Highly recommended.Don't miss a visit.Your loss.

Always great coffee and a great range of breakfast and lunch foods. Great little garden area (where bandicoots can sometimes be spotted) and over looks the park. Bring your friendly puppy dogs too!
