The vegetable egg rolls were decent but nothing special. The chicken pho had a nice flavor but definitely needed a fair share of hoisin sauce, lime, sriracha, and jalapeño it was rather bland on its own, but I don't mind having to dress up my pho myself! My friend ordered the shrimp spring rolls and beef pho, and also enjoyed her dishes. The portions are huge and a great bang for your buck! The small size pho was still incredibly filling, and the bill for two appetizers and two small pho's with tip came to just around $30. Very nice servers as well. With colder weather approaching, I'll for sure be back!
This establishment is tiny though you can bring like 10 friends in 1 go. But I hope they can prepare the food fast enough if there is a large group in your party. When we arrived there are like 2 other party aka like 4 other patrons dining in. I went here with my friends on Sunday for Lunch. Time was about 12:25hrs ish. While we were there, many more patrons had their orders TO GO, coz maybe due to the fact it was on a SUNDAY, everyone order TAKE OUT or TO GO orders. From their simple Menu, my friend ordered the Beef Stew with Wonton Noodles Soup $10.50), while her husband opt for Small Pho Combination $9) . I opt for the Shrimp Chow Fun $12). When our order arrived, it seems they forgot to give the correct order to my friend. The staff, made the necessary changes by giving her another bowl of noodles, in which I forgot to take pictures of the correct /right noodles. The service is prompt and efficient. I requested for the chili oil in which you NEED to ask for it coz they wont give it to you when they send your order to where you are seating or your table. Something is indeed missing from my order of Shrimp Chow Fun. For Pho 38, they cook their Shrimp Chow Fun the white version , SEMI-WET, meaning WITHOUT the Dark Soy Sauce, in which I prefer the white version . The Shrimp Chow Fun contains several Shrimp, TOFU and filled with cuts slices of Baby Corns, Broccoli, Carrots and Green Zucchini. *SIGH* Maybe the next time, I should ask if they could put Asian vegetables such as Baby Bak Choi, Napa Cabbage or Gai Lan to name a few in my order instead of the standard American vegetables which can be found in many Chinese restaurants etc. I forgot if they have pickled green chili peppers or pickled jalapenos or something. I don 't mind paying extra if they could go this extra mile to elevate the dish. All in all my order of Shrimp Chow Fun, I had is OK. I like that the portion they offer are huge and the pricing is reasonable. My friend and I have leftovers after our Lunch meal. Her husband finished his order of Pho. I may return to order different items in their menu when I am in this neighborhood. Parking can be limited if you come during peak hours coz at this strip mall, Pho 38 shared with 3 other food establishments. There are also street parking available, hence plan accordingly. TLDR: they have Chinese and Vietnamese food on the menu which really threw me off. ___ This was the only dining experience in Denver that wasn't exceptional : I was a little under the weather and wanted some Pho to cure my soul. Unfortunately this fell a little flat. I also got a small wonton soup and that wasn't good. The wontons were not fresh. Pork egg rolls were ok. Not much to say about them though. The pho was huge. But the flavor and depth of the broth was lacking. I put a ton of lemon and the warm brother did help me feel better, but I've had plenty of better pho. Service was ok. We came in 40 min before closing and were out right as they closed.
Oh dear lord in heaven the chicken wings, the wonton soup, the pho. This place rocks. Whole the dining room is small and nothing too fancy and they bring it with the food completely. The wonton soup is unique in that it comes with delicious house made wonton dumplings and then also some egg noodles, and you can add beef stew to it if you 're feeling frisky. Of note, I did add it and it was really good but it was a lot of the adventurous meat parts that I just wasn 't ready for. Did they taste good? Absolutely. I just needed warning I guess. OMG IS THAT TRIPE? ...I mean, it 's fine I 'm cool, everything is fine. The chicken wings are straight out of the after life delicious they are some kind of double fried delicious lemongrass magic. They have spicy and regular. Buy both and call it a night. Love this place.
Pho 38 doesn't just have pho, they are also a Southern Chinese restaurant with great Hong Kong style Beef Stew and Wontons. This is one of the top places for wontons IMHO. Honestly I have yet to order any pho and have always either got their Beef Stew w Wonton and Ho Fun or Egg Noodle. Or just plain Wonton soup. Ask for the chili oil, I didn't think it was spicy but it added really good flavor to the soup. I would say this place and Hong Kong cafe are my favorite Wonton place so far, HK cafe has really good one, but it's a lot further away from home so when I have Wonton cravings pho 38 is my go to. There never is too many ppl eating in but I noticed a lot of ppl get take out of their Chinese cuisine. Try their wontons, you won't be disappointed!!
