Our waiter was fantastic, offering great advice on drink pairings with our food and anticipating our needs by refilling our water and adding more ice before we even had to ask. It has been a while since I have experienced such outstanding service, and it really sets this restaurant apart. Overall, it was a fantastic evening, and I can't wait to return.
The food was delicious, the cocktails were divine, and the service was excellent from beginning to end. After being stuck at home for months, we couldn't have asked for a better night out.
Our reservation had to be relocated to the heated outdoor area (on the same street) due to Covid 19 restrictions on restaurants in Dublin at the time. Bookings are limited to 90 minutes and tables were a bit too close together for my comfort. However, the staff were wearing masks and hand sanitizer was provided. Despite the challenges they faced, the food was very good. The flatbread with lamb and hummus starter had just the right amount of spice and reminded me of Turkish holidays. The crab starter was also delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly to my medium rare preference and the quality of the meat spoke for itself. The mushroom pastry was excellent, with a wonderful mix of various mushrooms making it a perfect autumn dish. Unfortunately, we did not have time for dessert, but the value and selection of wines by the glass were both good. While it may not have been as lively as our past experiences at the restaurant, I commend the team for making the best of a restricted night out.
Very disappointing dinner out on Saturday night. On our arrival there was a large group in the window area where 2 tables seemed to merge and they were all interacting closely with each other. Also, the behaviour of one waiter made for an uncomfortable hour as I saw him repeatedly take his visor off and spin it around on his fingers a few times, then put it on his face again and subsequently pick up glasses of drinks to serve to customers outside. He also made no effort at social distancing while taking orders or showing us to our table and I saw him hug 3 different customers as they left. The food was tasty but really could not relax as I didn't feel safe in this restaurant in the current circumstances.
We visited this restaurant this past weekend and were extremely disappointed with the food offering. We had booked beforehand as we had been asked to do but too be honest I don't think it would have made much difference as there seemed to be plenty of tables. The menu appears to have condensed from previous visits but that also seemed to be the case with some of the other restaurants we visited in Dublin as well. The service was good and attentive and the location of the restaurant is good just across from the very busy Pygmalion but our meal was dreadful it was poorly put together and presented even worse. I'm sorry to say this as I know it hasn't been easy for restaurantours lately but you really need to improve the quality and presentation of your dishes if you expect people to keep paying your prices.
