Switchback - Durango

Switchback is one of the valuable few spots in durango that offers several vegan options and label them clearly on the menu. we all tried and everything is delicious. especially we like the mushroom tacos and, if particularly hungry, the loaded vegan switches fries. there are both indoor and outdoor dining, with terraces both front and back (depending on season.) service is generally good.

We had everything on the vegan menu and loved everything. her pickle juice for her tequila shots is homemade and some of the best pickle juice I've ever had. the campfire old fashion comes with a marshmallow up that needs to be removed to make it vegan, but the cocktail was fantastic. the backslides were really good. we added them tofu and mushrooms and our daughter loved them. the tofu and the mushrooms are a little spicy, so if they are not as spicy be careful. they have a main cashew sauce they use throughout the vegan menu, but it is a good sauce. the personal is really nice and know what to do with vegans.

The service was fantastic and the mushrooms and tofu toppings for the tacos were very tasty. The vegan taco was delicious, as was the elote corn. The restaurant also had a lovely outdoor dining area for casual dining.

They have a section on their menu that is specifically titled “vegan dream menu”. Gotta give them 4 stars for thinking ahead. Love that their tofu is smoked and they offer portobello mushrooms without an added cost.
