Camp Cookhouse - Elkwater

I visited for the Thanksgiving Special on Sunday, and it was truly a unique experience. The menu was fantastic, featuring dishes like the Bretzel rabbit with beer cheese, leading into a delightful main course. The highlight was the cranberry almond poppy cake served with squash ice cream—it was an incredible finish to the meal. Well done!

The menu was outstanding, featuring a fantastic selection of local beers and wines, including Dandelwein and mead! The food was excellent, with a varied and intriguing selection. I especially enjoyed the brown butter cornbread. The charming terrace offers lovely views of the woods. There were so many positives to this experience!

Great place for dinner in Elkwater. All foods made in house with local suppliers. Leave the old school camp cookware, food served on metal floors and porcelain or tin dishes, heads of hunted animals on the walls. Had the burgers and fries a night, Burger bungalows are made in the house, and it was very delicious. Ribs next night, delicious, but I wish they remove the silver skin from the ribs before smoking. Portion sizes are good, price is fair, local beers and wines/Mead's to wash everything down. I like everything they do here, you can not complain about much when everything is brought into the house locally, much too many restaurants do this kind of things not and it is a shame.

Greatest addition to Elkwater! The food was amazing. The staff friendly and outgoing. We had such a good time. Definitely worth the drive from Med Hat and finally a great place to go in the Cypress Hills. I wish I could give them more than a “like”. We will be going back again and again.
