The first time, she tried to give me back my **** plate and was shocked when I told her that I wanted a fresh plate. The waitress complained when we asked for a refill on a few items, saying that she had to walk ALL the way back to the kitchen and to make our minds up because the kitchen only wanted to do this once . We have been here several times and always had an enjoyable meal. The food was underseasoned and not up to par. Potatoes and gravy full of lumps...beans were cold...cobler burnt. Completely disappointed!
An excellent home cooked meal- the biscuits are superb and the fried chicken was excellent. Everything seems to be made from scratch. Service was checking try good. Highly recommended!
We throughly enjoyed both lunch and dinner recently at the PTR. Comfort food reigns here served in ample portions. Fried chicken was perfect, nicely seasoned, juicy and crispy skin. Sides of mashed potatoes and green beans were well prepared and tasty. Biscuits were warm and plentiful. Reed and Jane, the owners, stopped by our table to check on us. Loved Susan, our waitress. PTR is perfect for family and friends. This team goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Look forward to our next visit!
Home cooked food buffet delivered to your table with a smile. I could eat this every day. I appreciate all the love put into every item on the menu.
So this charming place has some high points and some low making me land in the middle. Lows: over seasoned and smoke flavored pintos, cold chicken, luke warm tasty dumplings, tiny beverage glasses that emptied quickly and the burnt unidentifiable blueberry crust on top of some loose warmed blueberries.... sad. Highs: old pine walled dinning room, friendly server, amazing hot biscuits with strawberry jam, tender and tasty country ham. Experience took two hours, but why, if most families get family style why the delay. Parking behind the building.
