Chili's Grill - Fort Hood

Our waitress was outstanding! I didn't catch her name, but she was so kind and patient, giving us plenty of time to decide, which I really appreciated since I tend to take my time. The food was fantastic—I had shrimp tacos with rice and black beans, and my fiancé ordered the triple dipper with wings and egg rolls, which he loved. I will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area!

I give this restaurant four stars, mainly due to the slippery floor. The food was quite good, and there were many great options for lunch. I didn't try any cocktails, but they are available for purchase. There is plenty of parking, and it wasn't as busy as I had expected. Located on Fort Hood's military base, I experienced minimal wait time during my visit.

During my visit to the restaurant, it was evident that they were severely understaffed. I had to wait 15 minutes for a table since only one section of the restaurant was open to diners. Over the course of my 45-minute stay, the waitress came to my table only twice, and her second visit was merely to deliver the bill.

During my lunch, I observed that several members of the waitstaff were just standing idle, which extended the wait time during the busy lunch period. They need to be more proactive in anticipating customers' needs. They could take orders, bring condiments and napkins, refill drinks, inquire about dessert or takeout, and present the check within 20 minutes of a customer's arrival.

I recognize that being short-staffed can pose challenges, but it was quite frustrating to see customers who arrived after me being served and receiving their orders before I could even place mine. The hostess acknowledged the staffing issues, and we tried to be understanding, but since we only had an hour and couldn't wait any longer, it became a bit disappointing.
