Swiss Chalet - Gander

This was my first time eating at this Swiss Chalet in Gander. Very friendly service and the food was just what I needed on a brisk December night. You can never go wrong with the quarter chicken dinner! Drop in for a meal and enjoy the quaint and cozy atmosphere!

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding staff and management at Swiss Chalet Gander. Heather, Donald and Angie (and the rest of the staff) are exceptional representatives of this restaurant company. Our son has anaphylactic allergies to dairy and nuts, and Swiss Chalet’s excellent allergy program means it’s the ONLY restaurant we know about that he can safely eat at in Canada. On our first visit about a month ago, the staff accommodated over our 30 hockey players and parents with less than 2 hours notice, allowing our son to safely eat in a restaurant with his hockey team for the 1st time ever. Our server Heather and manager Don were exceptional and attentive hosts, and our family and team were sincerely grateful. On our 2nd visit yesterday, we were lucky to be served by Heather again, and she remembered our son’s allergy AND HIS ORDER from over a month ago! We are so impressed and thankful to these wonderful people for their outstanding professionalism and incredible customer service. The food was, as always, excellent and the service was authentic, genuine, and first rate. We highly recommend the Gander Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s; exceptional people should be recognized and celebrated for the value they add to their patrons and their company. My son said he doesn’t remember his first Swiss Chalet meal, but that he will never forget this meal, because of the service. Thank you from us all.

Delicious chicken ribs, and the best homemade fries around! Cozy dining room area, your choice of experience at the front door (table service versus take-out, all menu items included with either option with exception to certain take-out specials). A fast and friendly experience for anyone and everyone.

Eaten here a few times, and have always had a good experience. Little bit of a wait, but not as bad as I 've had in other restaurants. Food is good, but the best thing they have is their ribs. Best ribs in town (And I 've also had ribs at Jungle Jims, Wing n ' It, Pizza Delight, and Lily 's Landing) Customer service has been good from my experience, I treated my mom out for supper for her birthday, but when I got the bill, I saw they forgot to charge for the drinks. Me, being an honest guy, pointed it out to our server, but he was just gonna let us off with it. I made sure to leave a bigger tip then I was planning. The closest I had to a bad experience was the first time I went, I asked for dark meat for my quarter chicken, and they gave me white. Now I prefer dark meat cause it tends to be jucier. That being said, the white meat is more meat, and normally costs more, but I was still charged for dark. Far as 'bad experiences ' goes, not half bad.

Great food. Great value for your money. Friendly service. I definitely recommend this location for a family meal.
