Fireweed Grill - Glennallen

This is the restaurant at the Caribou Lodge. Terrible burgers from last time we stopped here. Waitress was great. Kitchen staff looked overworked and overwhelmed. Ordered cheeseburger and awesome burger, burger meat was frozen patty probably not properly thawed and bacon was microwaved not crispy with blobs of chewy fat. Very disappointed in what used to be a regular stop for us along the highway. We might try the Thai food place although we hear the old woman there is soup nazi mean and not very friendly in reference to Seinfeld soup kitchen episode

Stopped by while driving through on a road trip. Was first time back in about 4 years. Should have gone to the food trucks as the service would have been better faster. The place was moderately full upon arrival, but emptied out fast. We were seated at a table without a working light, and given some waters. Server showed up about 10 minutes later and asked if we 'd been waiting long (needs some serious retraining). We gave our orders (chili, salad and a philly cheese steak). About 20 minutes go by without a server checking on us, I ended up taking a pitcher of water that was on a reserved table in order to stay hydrated as the glasses had been empty on our table for about 10 minutes. We could see our server BS 'ing with folks at the counter instead of checking on his customers. After ~25 minutes a couple is seated at the reserved table and ordered soup, their order was out in about 3 minutes. The server had greeted them with What do you want to drink and are you ready to order? . Highly unprofessional. We were told that we 'd get our food a minute later and the kitchen was backed up due to the number of people in the restaurant (nearly everyone had their food for 15+ minutes). 2 minutes later, we walked out without getting food or talking to a manager. Will NOT go back again. We did hear one waitress that was working off shift state I got off 30 minutes ago, but am sticking around while they get their $hit together while seating folks at a nearby table.

Stopped in while passing through from Anchorage to Valdez. We weren't expecting much due to previous reviews and just needed a warm meal. We were pleasantly surprised. Although it was 8:40 and they closed at 9pm, the service was top notch! Jordan was our waiter and he was excellent . He didn't rush us and smiled the whole time. We had hot cocoas since we were freezing after hiking at Matanuska Glacier. Jordan took the time to drizzle chocolate over our whip topped cocoas. And he gave us complimentary second refills. Our boys got Mac and Cheese. It looked like the traditional out of the box brand, but our boys claimed it was better. My hubby had the awesome burger, topped with onion straws, BBQ sauce, and jalapeños. I chose the Philly cheesesteak with ranch on the side. Overall, the food was great, not excellent. But quite satisfying and hit the spot! The only bummer was that our original choice was Chicken Alfredo. But they ran out from a previous table ordering right before us. We totally understood considering we were there right before closing. If we're passing by the area we would definitely stop again. And Jordan you are the best! Thanks for making our evening quite enjoyable!

Unbelievable. I thought nothing could be worse than the accompanying Hotel but I was wrong. The cook was actually smoking pot in front of the lobby in his apron. I was told its legal up here before I left. Someone needs to shut these people down.

Had lunch and eat ok nothing great, the waitress never checked if we needed anything, went back to dinner and couldn't get any help. we wanted to order pizza, but the waitress said they wouldn't. has offered nothing else, or if they were to serve at all, just ran away. more people waited and wanted to serve, but the waitress didn't let her go.
