Every year at Easter, we travel to the village of Gorodnya in the Tver region, where we visit an ancient church from 1384 that is currently being renovated. Since it is situated right by the banks of the Volga River, we filmed and blessed our Easter cakes there. We usually have lunch at the Volga Vills restaurant, but this year, due to the pandemic, the restaurant was only offering takeout.
We were there for a wedding banquet. It's a typical roadside restaurant, without any frills. The food is simple but very tasty, which is definitely a plus. There's plenty of space to dance, seating at tables, and even a mini stage. However, it was the first banquet I've attended where we had to open the wine ourselves; the waiter just brought the corkscrew and that was it. For that reason, I'm deducting a star.
The dishes listed on the menu were unavailable. The selection of drinks was limited...
I wasn't impressed.
