With most of the eateries on the island being take-out, this is a breath of fresh air, (literally, sea breeze and roses). Not really a tea room but a veranda, it offers a wide selection of tea and complimentary scones with homemade jams and jellies. It is a British Cream Tea without the cream. $5 gets you a generous pot of tea and two homemade scones. Table cloths, bone china cups & saucers, and delicate little cutlery elevate the experience and added with the magnificent view of the Bay of Fundy, there is no better way to spend an hour on a lovely summer day on Grand Manan! Only open from 2-4.

We vacation on Grand Manan every summer, and there can be no more relaxing way to spend time on a beautiful afternoon than to sit on the Harrington Cove Inn's front porch and sip a cup of tea. An extensive menu of teas is offered, but my personal favorite on a warm summer day is the wonderful rhubarb punch! Tea, served in floral china cups and tea pots, and homemade scones with a selection of homemade jams, is served from 2-4 on any day in good weather. The view across the water to Wood Island is spectacular and soothing. We generally go for tea multiple times every year.Both locals and visitors enjoy tea at Harrington's, and in summer it is a place where friends and neighbors often connect and catch up. Harrington's also rents several beautiful cottages, and on one occasion, we were able to tour one of the cottages. Charming, clean, nicely secluded, and the place I would choose to stay on Grand Manan if we did not already have a place!

We enjoyed the Afternoon Tea three times during our recent stay on Grand Manan. We like everything about the experience, from the wide range of teas, getting to pick our own tea service, the delicious complimentary scones, the incredible view of the cove and beyond, and the wonderful hospitality of the host. All this for $5. Take to time to stop by on the way to South Head.
