Amazing food. We dined here every day of our stay two years and do so again this time. Beautifully served, great taste and very welcoming staff.

**Service:** I was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness and genuine care exhibited by our waitress, Yashika. Kudos to whoever hired and trained her! **Food:** I had been disappointed by the food quality at various spots around the island, but The Plantation Restaurant stands out from the rest. It sets a remarkable culinary standard that all Mauritian chefs should aspire to. This restaurant alone is worth a two-day stay at the Residence Hotel where it’s located. The dishes are beautifully presented, striking a perfect balance between tradition and modern global standards. The flavors are harmonious, with each ingredient shining through, and everything is cooked to perfection—truly excellent! **View:** The restaurant features a spacious terrace within a charming colonial building right on the beach. The view is breathtaking—the entire island is simply stunning. **Overall:** I am always delighted to discover places like The Plantation. The quality of food and service here can easily compete with renowned establishments like La Petit Maison in London and Cipriani in NYC. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

We were celebrating our two-year anniversary and decided to have dinner somewhere other than our hotel. We made a reservation two days in advance and were informed about a casual formal dress code, which specifically mentioned no open-toed shoes. However, when we arrived, the floor manager signaled us to stay at the entrance and not enter the restaurant. It turned out there was a "long trousers" rule that we hadn’t been made aware of either over the phone or in any other communication. She told us we couldn't enter in our attire, which made our trip feel pointless and ruined our evening. Aside from my linen shirt, we were dressed quite nicely (she wore a black dress and I had on a black linen shirt). To be honest, we noticed that some other patrons were dressed much more casually, including some in very casual t-shirts. We are disappointed by the lack of information and professionalism from the staff both over the phone and in person. The way the situation was handled made us feel insulted.

The food here is incredible, and the atmosphere is wonderful—perfect for a family night out. Chef Yudish creates some of the best dishes you could ask for, and the service is outstanding. Sunjita, in particular, is truly excellent!
