I'm sure the atmosphere has more to do with its history (which I do not know) than any direct thought or influence. Feels like an old library turned sports bar from the 70's that got a great food menu at some point. Lunch to early dinner times carry great, though cramped, and relaxed atmosphere. I get the impression that it's night life is more pretentious college vibes. Not my scene but likely a great crowd for cramped spaces.

We moved here a year and a half ago and finally decided to try this place. The atmosphere and music were cool, and the server was extremely friendly. She want above and beyond, but the food at this place is horrible, especially for the price. There was an odd smell throughout the restaurant, the beer cheese platter was $10 but had small, hard pretzels like out of a $1.50 bag from a vending machine, the beer cheese wasn't what I expected, and I could have gotten a better cod sandwich at Captain D's. Was so bland and flavorless I couldn't even eat it. Big shout out to the servers because the service was top notch, and the alcohol was fine so this place might be ok if you just want to go somewhere for a drink, but the food really needs some work.

Had a all american burger and fries it was the daily special special it was great and had turkey bacon club it was huge and a order of hot peper cheese bites

This place is a Dive Dream!!! The food is incredible, prices are amazing and portions are huge. So excited to have the leftovers for dinner. Driving back to Chattanooga, TN, stopped here for lunch and beer. They run daily specials that all sounded great. Went with some standard house favorites. Started off with fried cauliflower that was served with ranch and creamy horsey sauce! Game changer with the horsey. Beer battered cod with slaw and tartar. Omg let me say one of the best cod sammys I've had. And Charlie's Roast Beef with sauteed onions, mozzarella and au jus. Gawly, everything was SPECTACULAR!!!! And the atmosphere, just stop it. Love at first sight and bite. Way to go Lexington, keeping this bar restaurant alive for 51 years.

This was a great stop. Love the feeling you get when you walk in. College town dive bar.
